Lettter of the Week – Letter C

Letter of the Week preschool activities and crafts are a fun and hands-on way for toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergartens to learn and practice the alphabet. This post includes activities for caterpillar, cars, and a sensory cookie activity!

It’s time again for another Letter of the Week update. This week I will recap our work with the letter “C.” We spend about an hour each day doing formal sit down work. The girls spend a lot of time playing together. We also read books, walk the dogs, and spend time with our homeschool group.

Bear working on writing her C’s. I don’t have a laminator so I put the worksheets in page protectors and use dry erase markers. I recommend using the markers with the erasers on the caps. Much easier for kids to erase.

Fofo works on writing and matching some “-AP” words and Bear works on her Animal ABCs.

ABC Find it for C. This week they dug around in beans to find the cards and match to the board.

For each letter, we add to our ABC Book, Phonics Book, and Transportation Book. C was for Cars.

The girls color and cut out their cars. Make sure you check out Learn, Create, Love. My girls love the transportation printables 🙂 Here is the one we used for Car.

For the phonics book, Bear cuts out pictures that start with the letter C, and Fofo has to find what starts with the letter C from various magazine pages.

For our messy play/sensory play, we made a puffy paint cookie. You mix glue, shaving cream, and paint to create a puffy paint.

Then you take some of the mix and plop in on a plate to create a “cookie.”

I didn’t get a photo of the final product since it looked a little funny on a My Little Pony plate. But the girls had a good time playing in the puffy paint. Actually, they wanted to play in it AFTER I had cleaned it all up. Sigh. Kids. There you have it! A sample of our work for the letter C. Thanks for stopping by.
