Weekly Wrap-up – Homeschool Bowling

Homeschool Bowling

Happy Friday everyone! We had a good week around here 🙂 The past couple of weeks were a little rough so it was nice to have a relatively easy week.

After the craziness last week, my husband took the girls out on Saturday to run errands with him. They stopped for a Starbucks treat on the way home. Papa’s little valentines 🙂 Don’t worry, it’s hot chocolate. Although Papa did make them try his flat white. Shockingly, they didn’t care for it.

The major excitement of our week was homeschool bowling. A local homeschool mom set up a time for our homeschool group to bowl. They had a session last fall, but we didn’t participate thinking the girls would be too little. My friend Amy did participate and said it was a great time. I figured I would give it a chance during the spring session.

Nothing is as cute as a little 4 and 6-year-old in bowling shoes. Adorable! They had shoes that fit, but the bowling balls were a different story. They were a tad big for the girls. But that didn’t stop Fofo!!

Fofo the bowler

She is a natural. She got three spares! She has a bit of Lebowski in her you could say.

Lebowski

She did this after every ball. Hysterical.

The Pose

Lilly was a little more aloof about bowling. Well, she is pretty aloof about everything.

She did have a lot of fun though! She used more of a throw-the-ball-down-the-lane approach.

Lilly Bowling

All four-year olds bowl in a tutu right?!

The girls were partners this week, but will change it up next week with some of the other younger kids aka bumper bowlers.

We had storytime on Wednesday which is awesome, because the girls don’t let me come in. It was a chance for me to start a new book!!

Five

And we FINALLY finished the letter Z. We are DONE with our letter of the week unit and will move on word family units. Well, that’s the plan now. It may change 😉

  1. Your tutu bowler has some serious style!! My kids love bowling, but we are all kind of terrible at it. Thank heaves for bumpers or we would be throwing balls all over the place! Congrats on the letter z that is a tough one to get the direction right on. My first grader still has to ask which way does the leg go mama?

    • Yes those bumpers are a god-send!! It makes it so much more enjoyable for the kids. I think some of the older kids would still like to use them!!

The girls did awesome with the direction for letter Z. We will see if they remember in the future though 😉

      Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Yay for extra reading time! I have to schedule reading time usually before bed, or it takes me forever to get through a book. Your tutu bowler looks so cute. Glad you all had a fun time!

    • I love any reading time I get during the day. I tend to fall asleep if I read before bed. Although the last couple of books I have read (Along with my current one) actually keep me up too late!

Thanks so much for reading 🙂

  3. My son has been asking to go bowling. Looks like fun! I’ll have to see what I can do. Love the tutu! Thank you for sharing 🙂

    • My oldest is 6, and she really enjoys. My youngest is 4, and she enjoys it as well. Just not for as long. She maybe makes it 5 frames, and she is done. Although she did pinch her fingers so maybe that was it. Poor kid. She isn’t the most athletic. Thanks so much for stopping by!!

  4. My kids LOVE bowling and I’ve wanted to sign up for a homeschool bowling class at the nearby bowling alley FOREVER, but the times never work for us. What a fabulous idea that mom had to start her own! I’m sending out an email to my homeschool buddies now!

    • Yep! She just asked who was interested (so the bowling alley would have some idea), and called up the bowling alley to set up a time. We ended up with 30-40 kids maybe. Of all ages. It was a great turn out!!

Thanks so much for stopping by 🙂

  5. Oh yeah I agree, bowling shoes in tiny sizes are so cute. Looks like a lot of fun and lol that they didn’t like the flat white! Thanks for linking up to the #ShineBlogHop!

    • The bowling shoes were just as cute the next week!! They are gonna stick with hot chocolate.

      Thanks for stopping by 🙂
