We had a lot of fun work to do during our letter H week: hearts, hands, and hippos!
We started off with sorting lower case and upper case H’s.
Then, we worked on tracing H’s.
I laid out on the kitchen table some of the things around the house that started with the letter H. Plus some of the H’s from puzzles, flashcards, and the like.
Play-doh is one of the most played with items in our house. After the girls rolled out their H’s on their play-doh mats, they poked holes in the H with a colored pencil.
We are continuing to work on our Animal ABCs and H is for hippo!
Bear works on tracing shapes.
Fofo glues her hippos on to her H.
For our ABC book, H was for heart.
It’s no secret that we are big fans of Pioneer Woman in this house. Ree made hand cookies at one point, and the girls were begging to make them also. So we gave them a whirl. They didn’t really turn our since the girls hands are so tiny, but we had plenty of heart cookies to go along with our hand cookies.
We had two activities for our messy play this week. The girls played with some of the cookie dough that we didn’t cook. We also did hand prints on the letter H. I didn’t get photos of the process but I did get pics of the finished product. No surprise Fofo used mostly pink in hers.
Having 2 girls the same size can be tough. Especially when trying to figure out whose artwork is whose. I could tell Bear’s from the messy corner. She doesn’t always follow instructions.
I have had to find more letter based activities for the girls to do rather than printables for their notebooks. I can’t imagine why kids would get bored with worksheets 😉 Thanks for reading!!
